Margie Ellen Whitley, 93, of Rowlett, Texas

Margie Ellen Whitley, 93, of Rowlett, Texas, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Royal Diamond Group Home in Garland, Texas.

 

Born June 16, 1929 in Morgan County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Harley Joseph Zink and Evelyn (Hemphill) Zink. She married Harold Joseph Whitley on March 21, 1952 and he preceded her on November 8, 1981.

 

Survivors include daughter Margo Ellen Kysar (David) of Rowlett, Texas; nephew

Robert Miller (Peggy) of Fairland; one grandson Jonathan Whitley Kysar; she is

 also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and sister Mary Elizabeth Miller.

 

Mrs. Whitley had lived in Rowlett, Texas for 7 years after previously living in Indiana. She was a secretary and bookkeeper at Triton Elementary for 22 years and graduated from Moral Township High School in 1948. Margie was a member of New Life Methodist Church, a charter member of Chatty Charmers Homemakers Club, American Legion Auxiliary since 1995, Ladies Auxiliary, VFW since 1999 and New Life United Women's Group.

 

Margie enjoyed riding her bicycle, bowling, baking, square dancing, playing cards and games. She liked to be on the move and was ready to hop in the car and go. She was a very outgoing lady, and loved to talk and make friends wherever she would be.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Monday, December 12, 2022 at New Life Methodist Church,  6145 N 400 W, Fairland, with Pastor Jolita Erbele officiating.

 

Friends may call on Monday morning from 11:30 am until the time of the service at the church.

 

Burial will be  in London Cemetery.
